secretary & Board Member
Mike has been a transformative leader with FHF for more than 30 years and a proud Clevelander for 32 years. He’s retired (i.e. working for free) and spends time golfing, reading, and exploring CLE. He likes that FHF helps individuals in the most uncluttered and direct way and really enjoys working on a team for the good of the people.
Board Member, Criteria committee chair
Dennis has been a FHF Member since 2001. He has been on the Criteria Committee since 2010 and joined the Board of Directors in 2018 as its Criteria Committee Chair. Dennis is a lifelong resident of northeast Ohio and is a private banker in finance for over 20 years. Dennis loves that FHF provides immediate help to people when they find themselves in vulnerable financial positions. He believes strongly in this social network, stating “we make a difference in the lives of our friends who have fallen on hard times and are in need at a very difficult time.”
board member, Past President
Don is a Past President of FHF, a Member since 2011. He’s spent most of his life here in Cleveland. He loves the uniqueness of FHF in that it’s affordable and that they help just about everyone that needs short term aid. Outside of FHF Don volunteers at Hospice of the Western Reserve, sings in the Rocky River Community Chorus, and loves to watch a local wrestling match.

Tim has been a member of FHF since 2013 and joined the Board in 2018. When not traveling with his wife, he works in the finance field here in Cleveland. As a life-long Clevelander, he’s excited to see FHF grow simply because it means that they get to help more people along the way. He believes everyone is here because of the pure joy of helping.
Dana has been part of the organization since 2013 and a Clevelander his entire life. Outside of FHF, he is a broker in commercial lending. He enjoys all Cleveland professional sports, the new and improved Flats, and Veranda restaurant in Westlake. It’s meaningful for Dana to have a part in leading the charity and watching FHF grow.
Ginger is new to FHF in 2018. Like most of the FHF Board Members, Ginger has been a Clevelander most of her life and logs more miles than most on Ohio's highway system. She's very excited to contribute her time and talents to help take Friends Helping Friends to the next level with respect to growth and professionalism. Ginger is a licensed Social Worker and certified Adoption Assessor and has served for decades, most recently in role of Assistant Director, for a local agency that assists families throughout the region with domestic and international adoptions.
treasurer & Board Member
Bill has been a generous leader as Treasurer for FHF since 2016. He works in the accounting/finance field and though he has been a Clevelander for most of his life, he remains an avid Steelers fan. He loves that FHF is a reminder to both the recipient and donor that someone in this world cares about them,
Sally has helped FHF tremendously as our volunteer Office Manager since 2016. She's recently retired as private banker, a big baseball fan, and has been a Clevelander for 43 years. She was drawn to FHF because of the personal connection it can have in your life and in the people’s lives changed by the organization.
Bill has been apart of the organization since 2012. He has been a Clevelander for his entire life and when he isn’t working on an FHF project, he’s tutoring 5th grade math students, exercising, or enjoying his favorite Cleveland restaurants. He feels that more than an organization, Friends Helping Friends is a ministry and he loves that it so directly effects people in our own community.
Gretchen joined FHF in April 2019 as the charity’s first executive director. Gretchen has spent her career leading nonprofit organizations, including City Year, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and the Cleveland Public Library Foundation. A lifelong Clevelander, she is a fairly recent transplant to the west side and is thrilled to be a part of this remarkable organization.
